Academic foundations
I learned to stay with a difficult problem, question the first answer and keep improving the way I think.
Pulteney Grammar School · Class of 2023
High school gave me an academic foundation, but the part I remember most is learning alongside people who made the hard days lighter and the good days worth celebrating.
Serious about learning. Never too serious to laugh with the people beside me.

What school gave me
The classroom helped me build discipline and curiosity. The people around me taught me how much easier it is to grow when you can ask for help, share the pressure and celebrate each other's progress.

Good classmates make you more curious. They challenge your assumptions, explain what you missed and make progress feel shared.
Friendship gave me the confidence to speak up, try unfamiliar things and bring some humour into serious moments.
The part that stayed with me
Some of the most useful lessons were never written on a whiteboard: listen when someone sees a problem differently, show up when a teammate needs you, and do not make every challenge heavier than it needs to be.
Those friendships made school feel like a community rather than a competition. That is the kind of environment I still try to create in university projects and at work — ambitious, supportive and easy to be part of.
Carrying it forward
“Work hard, stay curious, and make sure the people around you enjoy the journey too.”
That balance — between high standards and genuine connection — is still how I want to learn, collaborate and contribute.
